One day with LaMyra Stevenson

LaMyra Stevenson likes to keep busy. The fourth-year mechanical engineering and bioengineering student takes a full course load, teaches an Engineering 100 lab, is the membership educator of Alpha Omega Epsilon professional sorority and vice president of the National Society of Black Engineers.

"It can get stressful sometimes, but it's rewarding," she said. "Being involved has given me many opportunities that I would not have had if it wasn't for my willingness to take the initiative to be proactive. This allows me to interact with my peers outside the classroom setting, which allows me to have a greater connection with the university and provides motivation to keep going."
