Orientation Overview: Your Guide to a Successful Orientation Day!

Welcome to the Wolverine family! Orientation is your first step toward a successful college experience at ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn. Below is everything you need to know to prepare for your orientation day.

  1. Log in to your  to review your major
    If you wish to change your major, you must do so in advance of your orientation session in order to participate on your scheduled day. Complete and submit the Admission Information Change Form to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions ([email protected]).
  2. Know Your ÂÜÀòÉçID, Uniqname, and Password
    You’ll need these to access ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn systems.
  3. Review these Resources to Help You Register for Courses
    Academic Advisors and Orientation Leaders will be on hand to guide you through the process, but these videos can help ensure it goes smoothly. Review before your orientation to be prepared to register for classes!
    • - DegreeWorks combines ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn's degree requirements with any completed and in-progress college coursework (if applicable) into an easy-to-read worksheet that will help you see how credits earned count toward degree requirements. DegreeWorks also displays courses and requirements that still need to be completed.
  4. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - Submit Earned College Credit Documents (if applicable)
    Any AP credits, dual enrollment, or early/middle college transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to your scheduled orientation session.   Transcripts must be sent to ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn directly from the issuing institution to be considered official. Failure to provide in advance may impact your course registration.

    TRANSFER STUDENTSSubmit Updated College Transcripts
    If you had courses in progress when you applied for admission, updated college transcript(s) must be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to your scheduled orientation session.  Transcripts must be sent to ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn directly from the issuing institution to be considered official. Failure to provide in advance may impact your course registration.

  5. Starting at a new campus can be both exciting and challenging. One of the best ways to ease your transition is by signing up to be matched with an upperclassmen current student mentor through Wolverine Mentor Collective. As a mentee, after you attend orientation, you’ll be connected with a current ÂÜÀòÉç-Dearborn student who can make your college transition seamless and help you engage with opportunities across campus.

Information for Incoming Transfer Students

Orientation Appointment (required): On your scheduled orientation (academic advising and registration appointment), you will meet 1-on-1 with your academic advisor to register for classes. Follow the instructions provided in your confirmation email to complete your appointment. 

Information for Parents/Supporters

Parents and supporters are welcome to attend the Wolverine Wrap-Up, held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Renick University Center. This final stop of Orientation Day gives students a chance to pick up their Mcard, get any last questions answered, and enjoy interactive activities.
Please note: guests are only permitted to attend this portion of the orientation day and are not able to join students for other sessions.
